How do I start a thread ?

I am actually trying to find out the following:
Using MS Windows, XP PRO, I downloaded an Adaptec SCSi 39160 driver from SCO Unix site.
Driver is ad160.btld.
I now need to copy this driver to a SCO Unix 5.5 standalone server, via a floppy diskette.
I've tried SCO505 Diskimage and it didn't have the ad160 file in the image.
I've tried the btld image also. Unix can not find the ad160 driver.
My client needs their server back today. May 7/08.
How can I copy the ad160.btld driver from MS Windows to a Unix floppy.
Thank you in advance.
John

Moving a driver off a Dos floppy

You can mount dos floppies in sco unix just as if they were formated for Unix.

mount /dev/fd0 /mnt

cd /mnt

The only two things you need to note is that Unix will only see 8 letters of the name (so if you named the file whatever.doc unix is going to display it as whateve~.

The second is that you must unmount the disk ( umount /mnt) before removing the floppy disk. If you don't you could cause the system to panic.

BTLD stands for boot time loadable driver, and there are special rules for bringing a btld driver into your unix kernal when not doing an intial install. SCO should have instructions on their web site for this.

See SCO article 105694 and 109501

You'll need the RAWRITE program to write the disk images to a stiffy disk.
