SCSI tape on Openserver 5.0.6
Running into an interesting problem here:
I can add the tape with "mkdev tape" the system appears to see it wwith "hwconfig -hc" however a 'tape status /dev/rStp0' says 'no device found', checked the configuration files in 'etc' all appear to be correct. Any suggestion appreciated Jim |

the unit were working?? or it's a new installation, cause it could be wrong configurated, should know which scsi adapter, its LUN number, BUS and ID to correct configure it, ny device attacjed to a scsi card must be configured with the correct driver for example if it's an ultra 320 scsi card you must use ad320 driver, please give more information, additionally should the unit display it's information on post ? at start up of equipment

If you missed the tape drive information on the boot up, you can find it in /usr/adm/messages.
Check the information there with the information that you get from the host adapter bios during POST. Is this the only tape drive configured? Last edited by jgt; 04-04-2008 at 04:45 AM. |
