SCO: UNIX Spooler

I have a system that will not allow me to print from any network printers.
The printers are setup correctly.
I have already used lpshut and lpsched to reset the spooler
I am able to print jobs as long as I go around the spooler.
However, anytime I attempt to send a job through spooler it will not leave the lpstat nor print.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
TL

First off - what UNIX/Linux is this? The commands for administering lp are not all the same everywhere.

Next - are the network printers on a print server or two somewhere out there? Network topology is very important here.

The Unix SCO is 5.0.7
All the printers are on print servers.
Really confused, hope I am not confusing you also.

Thanks a million

FYI: Moved the thread to the SCO forum, so the SCO folks will see it.

How are the printers configured?
As remote printers, or as HP printers?
Have the printers ever worked?

You might try
Code:
#/etc/init.d/lp stop
#/etc/init.d/lp start

To restart the lpr/lpd print service.

The printers are setup as local printers
The printers are Okidata printers
The printers have worked for some time. Just a one time, all printers (6) that are network printers quit working.

I tried /etc/init.d/lp stop = said "Cannot access the file"
ran /etc/init.d/lp start = went to next line

Still no luck

If they are set up as local printers, do they print using Samba, or netcat, or something else?
Can you show us the file in /usr/spool/lp/admins/lp/interfaces for one of the printers?
