Question Kernel parameters for Informix on Open Server 6

Hi guys,

Anybody is running Informix Dynamic Server on Open Server 6?

Can you share your kernel parameters for SHM, SEM, etc.?

I have a situation where oninit stops starting when the BUFFERS Informix parameter is increased. Already went through the machine release notes for Informix but even after changing the kernel parameters, no luck.

TIA

Fernando

During the installation of SCO 6.0.0 there is a question asking if you are running a large database. Did you answer yes to that question?

I was not the one who installed the system, unfortunately. I don't know if they answered yes or no.

I am doing a fresh install later this week, if you think it is of value, I can do an install for a large db system first, and save the /etc/conf/cf.d/mtune file.

It might have helped, unfortunately the question only appears in Openserver 5.

OK. Thanks anyway. :-)

Just for the record, the guys at the informix forum told me that there is some bug in that old version fo Informix that prevents usage of more than 1GB of shared memory. So even if we managed to fix this, it would not be usable.
