Bug how to use vncserver and vncviewer?

hello,
I have two fedora 8 systems connected in LAN.
I have typed "vncserver" on one terminal; gave a password.

Then went to the next terminal and typed "vncviewer".It asked me for host server.I gave the IP address of the above system. But it prompted that "server not found".
I tried "ping" and found that they are in a network. Can you please tell me how to accomplish the Remote desktop now !!!

nsharath,

To check about your problem checked the vnc server port and try it to the local browser ( your vnc server) http://<your vnc server:<vnc port #>

Or

You can do a netstat at the vncserver and look for the port # that vncserver is listening to.

In client you can specify the IP add and the port # of the vncserver.
