How to prepare for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Certifications?

Hi Everyone,

I am working as a AIX System Administrator. I did few certifications related to my work. And i do have a very little working experience of Red Hat (Linux OS). i started learning RHEL, and would like to get the professional certifications from Red Hat.

I was browsing redhat website and found the below info

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Exam (EX200)
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) Exam (EX300)

I think in order to get the RHCE i need to complete pre-requisite EX200. please correct me if am wrong.

And can you please suggest on how to prepare for this exam, so that i can plan accordingly.
any idea is highly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi you Smilie

Yes, you need to pass the EX200 and EX300 to attain the RHCE. You can pass the exams in any order, but you won't attain the RHCE until you've passed both.

I used the McGraw Hill "RHCSA / RHCE Red Hat Linux Certification Study Guide" and the "RHCSA / RHCE Red Hat Linux Certification Practice Exams" books by Michael Chang. Those provide ample preparation, provided you have already hands-on experience with RHEL.

- Prepare from Michael Chang Cert prep book
- Hand on is very much required as RHEL is practical examination. So, you have to solve question in limited time frame.
