kernel panic - Failed back to HPET

Hello,

I have a problem in my server:
HP ProLiant DL580 G5

My OS is REDHAT 4.6

I have an error when I start the server:

Badness in do_unblank_screen at drivers/char/vt.c:2878
...
Your time source seems to be instable or some driver is hogging interupts
rip __smp_call_function + 0x64/0x87
Failed back to HPET

Can anyone please help with that problem?
What does it mean? And what I should do?
After I get this error, the server is stuck.

There's a bugzilla report at RedHat for this:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=248488

Looks like there was a change in the default kernel clock config which munged some buggy code. On that page is info about adding a config which will lead to less lost clock ticks (and hence less, or hopefully no panics).
