**** For Scott ****

Hi,

Its quite sad that you seem to think that this is a piece of homework:

Code:
Dear macdadi112,

This is a reminder from the moderators at Unix & Linux Forums.

Reason: Homework Violation
-------
I'm not buying any of this BS.
-------

All I was doing was trying to help the teachers!!!

Regards,

Heaven knows, the teachers need all the help they can get.

Are you a teacher yourself?

No I am not.

I am a dedicated parent who wants the best for all children. Seeing the process they go through each week (roughly half an hour) per teacher to prepare these sheets which could easily be done with a click of a button.

And what has that to do with this?

How could asking a specific sed/awk question, clearly looking for a specific solution, possibly help teachers? Were you planning to ask a thousand of them? What next? grep?

If you cared to help teachers, use the appropriate sub-forum here to offer genuine suggestions, or ask us for advice for exactly that - "what can you do to help teachers?". It will gain traction, I'm certain.

For our part we are working on a feature to help students which, in turn, we hope, will help teachers.

You will follow our forum rules and post all homework / school work problems in the correct forum even if you think you are "trying to help the teachers".

Thank you for posting in unix.com; but please be advised that you must follow forum rules; and as far as I am concerned "trying to help the teachers" falls into the category of "homework / school work".

Thanks.

Fair enough.

I'll move it to the correct forum.

Thanks for ALL your help.

You cannot "just move it" ... as you must complete the template for that forum as well... thanks

Here are the guidelines for that forum.
