iTunes quits unexpectedly playing a movie rental in Windows

iTunes may unexpectedly quit while playing a movie rental in Windows. This is known to occur if the computer's time and or/time zone setting is changed by using the Windows Sidebar Clock Gadget while a rented movie is playing.
