Identifying legitimate emails from the iTunes Store
The iTunes Store will never ask you to provide personal information, or sensitive account information (such as passwords or credit card numbers), via email. On occasion, the iTunes Store will need to request certain account-specific information from you, in order to assist you in a support request. This may include a request for you to verify your billing address, name a song that you have purchased in the past, provide a web order number from your purchase history, or to provide your iTunes Store account name and email address.
