Sudden LOCK'd volume syndrome
I have depended heavily on an external hd I named 300FWR. It has my backed-up apps, docs, and hours of captured video from digital video recordings of my wife and kids. 90% of the contents are indispensable to me. Recently, the 300FWR volume popped up on my desktop with a Lock icon on the Drive icon. It is so "Locked" I cannot even view the directories. I have done everything up to and including "diskutil repairPermissions" (as root.) I've had no success at all.
My question is: How do I force permission changes on this volume? (or, How do I restore it to its previous and dependable glory?) Last edited by ejmjensen; 01-03-2009 at 09:05 PM.. |
