Unhappy GRUB Error and Installation Failure

...I haven't been here in along time!

Anyways, I didn't know where I should put this, as this involves practically three OSes, so if this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it.

Recently, I thought about this: installing OpenSUSE 10.1 on my Mac Mini's (Intel Core Duo) external hard drive. I'd be able to unleash the wrath of Trio Power: Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, Windows XP Professional SP2, and OpenSUSE 10.1. Quite a pair, isn't it?

Thursday, I decided to install OpenSUSE on the external hard drive. I was able to run YaST on the computer and manage the partitioning; however, I ran into these problems:
  • During the installation, I was away, playing basketball at my YMCA. When I returned, I was gretted by a flashing underscore at the top left of the screen.
  • I booted up into Mac OS X and tried to mount the partition Linux was in to see if it was installed, and the partition map was soon corrupted. I ended up erasing the entire disk.
  • When booting up into Windows XP, I get an error similar to this:
    Quote:
    GRUB: Hard Disk Error
It is odd, as I'm able to boot back into Mac OS X without a problem.

That being said, is there any way to restore Windows XP? Moreover, how do I install OpenSUSE on my external hard drive without corrupting my partition map again? I have all important data on my computer backed up, just in case a format is needed.

Thanks,
Danny_10
