Darwin ports

Hi there.
I have an MacBookPro and I want to install Darwin ports.
I downloaded & installed MacPorts-1.7.0.pkg and now I don't know what to do.

I tried:
Code:
 # port -d selfupdate
....
error 1
Command output: checking build system type... i686-apple-darwin9.7.0
checking host system type... i686-apple-darwin9.7.0
checking target system type... i686-apple-darwin9.7.0
checking MacPorts version... 1.7.1
checking for sw_vers... sw_vers
checking Mac OS X version... 10.5.7
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl.exe... no
as I understood I need gcc or another C++ compiler.
Where can I get gcc for mac?

thanks
