my -- Myson Technology Ethernet PCI driver
SYNOPSIS
To compile this driver into the kernel, place the following line in your kernel configuration file:
device my
Alternatively, to load the driver as a module at boot time, place the following line in loader.conf(5):
if_my_load="YES"
DESCRIPTION
The my driver provides support for various NICs based on the Myson chipset. The Myson chipset is a variant of the DEC Tulip NIC chipset.
The driver will work with almost any MII-compliant PHY, thus failure to positively identify the chip is not a fatal error.
HARDWARE
The my driver provides support for various NICs based on the Myson chipset. Supported models include:
o Myson MTD800 PCI Fast Ethernet chip
o Myson MTD803 PCI Fast Ethernet chip
o Myson MTD89X PCI Gigabit Ethernet chip

i'm compiling my kernel with the support of this chipset.
In FreeBSD 4.2 and 4.3 I got no problem with the kernel, but with 4.4 I just can't get the kernel compiled with the soundcard support.

I installed oracle 10g (10.2.0.2) RAC on 2 IBM p5 570 servers running AIX 5.3ML04 and HACMP5.2 (used Raw devices, not used GPFS). Each server has 4 x 1Gbps ethernet cards (NICs), en0 and en1 for boot address, en2 and en3 for oracle interconnect.

I have an RHEL 5 server with 2 Broadcom on-board NICs and 2 quad-port Intel NICs. After I installed the OS, the Intel NICs became eth0-7, and the onboards are eth8 and eth9. Basically what the title says. Had to replace the motherboard on an HP DL380 G6 today, of course now the embedded NICs don't work because the ifcfg-eth files have the MAC addresses for the embedded NICs from the old machine.

Solaris 10 x86 VM was shipped with four NICs, two each teamed together. We don't want or need. I ifconfig downed e1000g2 and e1000g3 and removed their /etc/hostname.* entries.
