Internet Problem
hi,
I have dual boot machine with vista and ubuntu 8 (hardy) install on it. The problem is Ubuntu does not detect ethernet link. My card is Atheros.
If i reinstall the driver by
>sudo modprobe -r atl2
>sudo modprobe atl2
and restart the computer after few minutes, It start working. But if i load
windows then it stop working again. Is this somekind of bug in Ubuntu?
Please help.

Wait, it IS working with Ubuntu, and not with "windows"? Or do you mean X-Windows? Or does it start working with Ubuntu and stop after a while?

No i meant if start windows vista then start ubuntu it stops working. it doesnt detect ethernet link.so i have to reinstall driver by running above commands then shutdown and wait for few minutes then it start working again on ubuntu. It is perfectly woking on vista. But ubuntu doesnt detect ethernet link.

After installing the module via modprobe, did you wait a minute and check to see if you see the interface (via ifconfig)? Or did you shutdown and reboot right away. After the reboot, did it the interface show up correctly? Did it work correctly?
