Cool and quiet BIOS setting on RH5 (OEL)
Our SA is away on his jollies and I am looking for some advice on how to set a BIOS setting to enable (well disable actually) a RH5 setting that enables cool and quiet. It is supposed to slow the CPU down to keep the heat and noise down.
As we are heavily into testing both high throughput and latency we need to see what difference the setting provides. I am a Oracle DBA to simple directions please Environment - HP DL585 quad core cpu Oracle 11g database OEL5 which is Oracle's packaging of RH5 Thanks John |

Cool'n'Quiet is an AMD technology, but I couldn't find exact reference or howto enable it. See if this thread can help, or look at AMD's site.
