Help needed in dependencies problem in Fedora 8 VM
hi,
I have installed a VM for Fedora 8 running on Windows Xp. And I have the following error:- Error: Missing Dependency: libgsl.so.0 is needed by package test Error: Missing Dependency: /usr/bin/gcc is needed by package test Error: Missing Dependency: libgslcblas.so.0 is needed by package test I tried to install RPM separately for these but i found out its empty. RPM resource libgsl.so.0 Please help how to resolve this dependencies problem. I did query my gcc by "which gcc" but it returns No such file found. Please advise. Thanks. Rgrds, Jason |

so, you're installing FC8 Vmware image over vmware workstation, in order to lack gcc, you've had chosen minimal install. I don't see any other reason for GCC to be missing. As last resort, try the installation again.

Try:
Code:
yum install gcc |

Hi,
Actually I have my Windows XP installed. And I build FC8 on VMware player. Then I saw the error below. Is that true that using VMware, gcc is not installed as part of Fedora 8? I tried to find resources in internet but there are not any close cases to what I am facing. And for the libgsl files, does it means its root cause is from GCC as well? Please advise. Thanks.
