I mostly work on Solaris where -a and -z don't work. I will use -f to see what a log file shows when I run a command. (Take two sessions on the system, run tail -f in one and the command in the other).

abril2006,

There is a utility called "man" which is short for manual.

When looking up the answers for a multiple-choice questionaire you could use the man utility to look up the answer, eg

man tail
man traceroute
man wget
