Mplayer Should be able to handle the wma and mpegs. Not sure about the dat files. Just look on the Mplayer information page.

Can also look into using Xine

Mplayer should do the trick ( does for me ) as long as you get the codecs with it.
mplayer download : http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/rel...0pre6a.tar.bz2
codecs for mplayer download : http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/rel...050216.tar.bz2
*** This is a package of all the codecs on the site ***
untar the MPlayer-1.0pre6a.tar.bz2
./configure --with-codecsdir=Place-Where-You-Untarred-The-Codecs-Package
make
#make install

Just for information, you can find a myriad of software for Linux on

http://www.sourceforge.net
and
http://www.freshmeat.net

There are literally tens of thousands of software projects hosted on these sites (quality varies, however ).

Cheers
