Data VNC Server http listening port

Hi All,
I'm running RH 9.0 on a PII box with 160MB RAM. Just downloaded RealVNC X86 Linux (version 3.3.7). How can I get the HTTP listening port up ?

Thanks,
KENT

I don't think VNC use HTTP ...

Just run vncserver, and the required session number will appear on the console like :0, :1 etc.

Then on remote PC you just use VNC client and enter the host:sessionnumber (like 192.168.0.10:0) to connect to the VNCserver.

Hope I didn't misunderstand your question.

Hi,

RealVNC has a small web server. If you want to connect to the web server, use the port 5800+display_number... if your server is on display 1, point your browser to http://server:5801...

HTTPD on VNC

Hi,
Thanks for a quick answer. VNC does have HTTP listening port on 58xx. Earlier version, 3.3.5, has that feature for Linux.

Hi,
VNC server uses 2 set of ports. 58xx for http and 59xx for desktop client. Look into you ~user/.vnc/*.log .
