internet doesn't work in firefox

Hi,

internet is working in the terminal, in skype but not in firefox...

I've already change all proxy settings in firefox but still it doesn't work.

I haven't installed firewalls.

I'm using a wireless connection. My OS is GOS Linux.

thanks

Does wget work? try wget yahoo.com from console.

if wget doesn't work either, perhaps your connection needs some proxy setting or other.

yes, wget works...

302 found
200 OK

then it stays open and I can see a double arrow moving right and left.. I don't know if this is normal..

No, it should retrieve the raw page(quite quickly, on any reasonable connection) and immediately go back to the prompt, probably having saved it to "index.html". If it takes any significant amount of time to download one raw webpage there is something odd going on with your connection itself. Perhaps your ISP requires the use of a proxy, and puts any direct connections into a "tarpit" that makes them wait until they time out.

Try downloading a nonexistent webpage with wget, "yahoo.com/qwertyuiop" or something, if it still gives "200 OK" then they're definitely mucking with your connections.
