Can't launch firefox

Hi all,

I installed RHEL on my machine and realized that firefox browser was not
included at installation. I went back and added it using the Add or Remove
Packages by inserting the dvd I used during installation. The icon is there
but for some reason I cannot lauch. Nothing returns when I click.

Can someone tell me what I am missing, or what could be wrong.
What log can I tail to see what the problem is ?
Am I better off reinstalling Linux ?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

This is what i get:

[root@jhlinux ~]# /usr/bin/firefox &

This probably means there was an error in the creation of:

You should create this file by running pango-querymodules.

Do you suggest that I uninstall what I have on there allready ?
If so, how do I go about that (never done it on linux)? I imagine there has to be some cleanup.

Please advise, and thanks.

I did a search on my machine for yum* and I found this

/etc/log.d/scripts/services/yum

However, this is not included in my executable path.
