VMware creates guest operating systems - you switch back and forth between OSes.
VMware is/was expensive. Wine has limitations - so for example you want to run a game like WOW in wine, you might have major issues. What software do you need to run? Linux has almost anything there is except brand-name gaming and office productivity software like MS Office. |
