outgoing smtp slow
Hi all,
Im having some issues with slow outgoing smtp I'm thinking maybe my internal ip is not on the whitelist? How do I go about testing or checking this? I did telnet into the port and it was not slow at all but when users send email using an email client or the webmail client it takes several minutes to send out a message. So i just want to see what areas i need to check to resolve this. Im on a centos 5.x box with sendmail, spamassassin as spam filter, and using openwebmail as the webmail client. Thanks again Last edited by mcraul; 06-22-2008 at 10:59 AM. |

hi thanks for the reply
I resolved this issue. There was in invalid DNS IP address in the TCP/IP settings. Because it was invalid the sendmail kept trying to look it up before it went on to the next dns ip address. By that time either the mail session would logout or mail would be sent out 2-3 mins later. So I deleted that IP address and now email zips out fast now. |
