promiscuous mode machines

anyone know an effective way to tell what machines, if any, are running in promiscuous mode??

There are several applications that will check for sniffers on your network. packetstormsecurity.org is down right now, but when it's up, look for "anti sniff", and similar tools. I believe the Unix versions are free.
