Hi !
I've just got a real IP number for my personal computer. Until now, the IP was masked (NAT'ed). Anyway, the problem is like this :
I'm on a LAN with about 100 computers and I asked the admin to give me a real IP so that I can connect to my computer from my office. He gived that IP to me, but the
DNS server of the network doesn't have a real IP, so somehow I have to be on the same LAN (from the IP point of view) to can access the
DNS server, and I have to be on the other network, beacause the new IP belongs to another network... The LAN has the IP class like 172.17.xx.xx and the real IP is 195.225.xx.xx. So, how may I set this up ?
I tryed with to make an alias on my /etc/rc.conf file (I use FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE) but it doesn't seem to work... I don't have access to anything... Am I missing something ?
Can anyone, please, give me an example of how should I set it up ?
Thanks.
Bye !
