Installing Nagios on Solaris 10

Hi all,

I'm instructed to install Nagios on Solaris by my boss, but I know nuts about computing.
I read up on guides and explanations on the internet yet I'm still lost.

ls5-www.cs.uni-dortmund.de/~windmueller/nagios-solaris10.html

The link above was the one I'm concentrating on(with the 'http://' infront). Can anyone explain in detail as to what they mean by, "Make sure that /usr/ccs/bin is part of your PATH"

I have a lot of queries, but I hope any kind soul can slowly guide me step by step. Thank you! Smilie

Just enter this to your command line or add it once to your .profile:
Code:
PATH=$PATH:/usr/ccs/bin

Thanks. I managed to do that. But following the instructions from the website, it says to key in this command.

# ./configure --prefix=/opt/local/nagios-2.9 --with-nagios-user=nagios
--with-nagios-group=nagios --with-gd-lib=/opt/sfw/lib
--with-gd-inc=/opt/sfw/include

I did that but it later prompt

./configure: not found

Can help me identify my fault?

The document you are referring to is assuming you have already downloaded and extracted the nagios source tarball somewhere. Perhaps finding an already built package would be simpler for you. It seems someone made them available for SPARC here: Index of /~jsosic/BTW/sparc and for x86, blastwave has packages for both x86: Blastwave.org - An OpenSolaris Community Site and sparc http://www.blastwave.org/pkg/pkgcont...e=5&arch=sparc
