Secondary groups show in groups but don't show in id (Not working)

Add user into dba as secondary group. Verified it is a member in /etc/group. However, id doesn't show it is a member of dba.

Code:
# usermod -G dba hqadmin
# grep dba /etc/group
dba::101:oracle,hqadmin
# id hqadmin
uid=110(hqadmin) gid=20(users)
# id -nG hqadmin
users
# id -ng hqadmin
users
Login as user hqadmin and verified under groups that dba is indeed there. Tried opening a test file belonging to dba group but failed.

Code:
$ groups hqadmin;ll test
dba users
-r-xr-x---   1 oracle     dba           6879 Dec 29 15:32 test
$ more test
test: Permission denied
My box is running HP-UX B.11.11. From sam, I can also see that hqadmin is a member of secondary group dba. But it just doesn't seem to work nor show its membership in id.

Did anybody come across this or am I missing anything?
