i dont think that the problem is on windows conf because i can connect to other servers with ftp.
I cannot connect to a specific hp-ux server. it gives the failure unable to connect.

Have u checked iis component in your machine & tgt

go to add/remove programs

ckick windows components

click iis

check whether ftp service is installed

also check wheteher userid/ip is blocked in connecting server

You have provided minimal information...

Can you talk to the server using any other protocol?

What errror are you getting back, "connection refused" or something else?

Can anybody else talk ftp to the same server?

Have you tried sftp?

On the HP server try:
ftp localhost
to be sure that the ftp daemon is running. But this really sounds more like a networking problem. For the windows box, try tracert and ping to be sure that you can see the HP server of the network. If not, you need to look at the network between the HP and Windows boxes.

also it could be that ur login dont have the ftp priv. pl ensure to ftp it from other UP-UX machine with the same login.
