Hello to everybody!
I'm new to HP-UX, but use for a while other versions of UNIX (Solaris 8,10, FreeBSD, Linux). I have HP J5000 PA-RISC machine. After successful installation of HP-UX 11V2, CDE is inoperative. There are two message boxes on the screen: Quote:
I tried to install the OS three times, first with DHCP and hostame, second time, without DHCP and with hostname, the third time, with DHCP and without setting the hostname. The only option that I still didn't try, is to install without networking support, but it is useless try - I really need the network. I tried /usr/sbin/sam, but with no sucess. The same problem was, when I installed Solaris 10, I used then DHCP and tryed to set hostname. There was exactly the same message. I corrected the problem: set permanent IP address and hostanme or DHCP without hostname - both solutions worked perfectlyand still they do. I tryed to do the same, but without any success on HP-UX For the protocol: 1. There is ping to other nodes in the network. 2. DNS resolves names without a problem (for example nslookup Google) 3. My network is based on router/ADSL modem that provides DHCP on demmand and DNS. 3. Solaris 8, 10, Linux Fedora Core 5 are successfully using the same network at this time. Does somebody knows how to solve this problem? Thanks. Last edited by netwalker; 08-25-2007 at 12:25 AM. Reason: Title Correction |
