Data protector GUI gives Blank screen
Hi, Haveing a little trouble with data protector (5.5) on HP-UX (11.11, 11.23)
under Xwindows Chameleon UNIX 97 (7.0 - its a old version) I am trying to get the GUI for DP up and running on a HP-UX cell manager and I have the following problem. The GUI starts up with no errors that I can see, however, I get the frame and the basic drop down menus (File View Help) but a complete blank screen. It seems to be connected to the cell manger and I can connect to other cell managers but I see absoultly nothing. I feel the problem may be with the Xserver software I am using but can not be sure. (It works fine from the Windows PC end - Standard HP supplied Software for DP) I have Searched the net and HP support site with no luck! Any ideas? |

$ /opt/omni/bin/xomni -cde
Uses CDE color scheme instead of default... worth a try. |

Hi Mr Manny, gave it a try and well - sorry no luck, still the same. But the colour rendering is much easier of the eye. :-)
I had a look through the "Debug.txt" file that is generated and it seems that it is looking for "nls/en_US.iso88591" directory that does not exist in /opt/omni/lib amount other things. I wonder if the previous administorstor installed it fully - I am looking into this. Rgds Andrek |
