HP-UX

I am using SAM and it is asking for the location of the DEPOT software. I don't know what the DEPOT software is. Can anyone explain and tell me where the default location for the software is?

This would be for HP-UX patching I presume. You depot can be anywhere you choose. Have you followed the patching instructions to create the depot?

No, actually I just start SAM from a hpterm window. is there a command that I can search the system to find the directory it is located in? If so, what files name(s) would I be looking for. The system was rebuilt at the first of the year and I just started looking at it this week This is an old system and I am trying to get it up and working since 2 others were not able to get it to work. I have gotten a lot farther than the other 2. I don't think they sought out a forum like this one for help.

I think it is initially /var/spool/sw (while the directory does not need to exist. Will be created if needed.)
Also shown as localhost:/var/spool/sw
