Go to the source

HP has quite a few documents about HP-UX posted on their website at http://www.docs.hp.com/, from manpages to system admin primers and so forth. Give them a try.

Still recommend hpdocs

I'm relatively new to HP-UX myself, and believe me, I know how hard it can be to dig the info you need out of that big a load of information. Still, it's the biggest single resource I've found on HP-UX so far. If you're looking for more of a beginners guide, maybe this'll help.

http://www.docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90164/index.html

It's available for download as a PDF. And this should give you a handle on the shell environment.

Hope those are more help to you.
