I am having trouble installing some HPUX patches on my B1000 11.11. I am a novice
at this so bear with me. I understand how to install depots. Very easy. Now I'm trying to patch my system so I can get the Oracle client installed. Oracle says I need these two patches: PHCO_23770, PHCO_23092 I go to: http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/downloadPage.do find the patches and download them including all their dependences. I pick " download a script that will ftp the patches" and then I run this script on my HP box. It creates the helper files. I run the get script and it gets the files. I then run the create_depot_hp-ux_11 script and it creates a bunch of files and a depot directory. Now, according to the README_hp-ux file, all I have to do from here is run swinstall and pick my depot directory it created. (which is on /db01/depots/depot). I do this and it says: ============== Currently, there are no products on this source which are compatible with the target. Therefore, no products are shown. ============== I've played around with this for 3 hours now and I've google'd it to death. I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I am currently going insane and am very depressed.... Thanks for any help you can provide. |

Here is what I get when I try that:
# swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x patch_match_target=true -s /d01/depots/PHCO_21187.depot ======= 04/14/05 16:09:53 MDT BEGIN swinstall SESSION (non-interactive) (jobid=hp-0111) * Session started for user "root@hp". * Beginning Selection * Target connection succeeded for "hp:/". NOTE: The patch match operation failed to find patches for target software on "hp" which passed the filter. NOTE: Cannot continue the "swinstall" task. ======= 04/14/05 16:09:55 MDT END swinstall SESSION (non-interactive) (jobid=hp-0111) Last edited by natter; 04-14-2005 at 03:14 PM. |

That was it. I knew I should have taken a break. I kept seeing 11.0 but in some places on the HP site, I saw it as 11.X. So, I was confused.
I read some oracle threads and they had the old 11.0 patches posted. Thanks so much for your help. It's working now. |
