Connect to MP

Hi all,

I am trying to connect to the MP via ethernet cable but puTTY keeps saying no route to host.

I assume there is something wrong on the laptop itself. It is a new one and the previous one could connect.
How do I setup this damn thing up so I can connect?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

It's the first time you're connecting MP?

Check gateway and netmask of your laptop and MP. If you can't access by other pc, you will need to reset it and log in with serial cable.

Hello,

have you solved the problem.

Is ip-adress the same as old notebook ?
Is the ip-range same on MP and notebook (same subnet) ?
Try to put the info in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file !
Are you able to ping the host?
a.s.o.

Regards

If you are connecting to the MP with an ethernet cable you will need a crossover cable or connect both the MP and and laptop to a hub. I believe the MP comes configured to use DHCP so you will need a DHCP server on the laptop. I would suggest using a serial cable then configure the MP's IP settings to your liking and connect it to your network.

Thanks all for your responses.

I didn't have the IP range correct on the laptops network card.

Sorted.
