Why won't this compile on HPUX?

Code:
typedef struct {
   struct timeval t1;
   struct timeval time;
} timer_t;
cc: "timer.h", line 9: error 1584: Inconsistent type declaration: "timer_t".

It compiles fine with gcc...

Thanks for the help.
