How can I configure my sound card?

Where should I go for sound card configurations?

Depends on which OS.

What are you using? The configuration for my OpenBSD and FreeBSD machines are quite different for a SuSE Linux install.

If you use any Linux based (and others)variants such as Redhat, Suse Etc. Try sndconfig - sndconfig is a command to configure soundcards, you can probe your sound card and use it.
