DNS Server help

Hi,

I would like to create an internal webpage for my company that would only be viewable when connected to the VPN or internal network. I want a webpage like newsite.company.com. Is there a way to do this. We obviously already have www.company.com, but how would I go about creating the newsite. I have read about creating a DNS server. Is this possible or even the best way to proceed.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks,
Eric

The problem isn't with dns but in how to manage access to the system. You should be able to add any subdomains to your main domain through your registrar. I haven't worked with the server side of VPN's so I don't know how traffic comes through although I know it is possible to grant access to internal systems through the VPN. I VPN to IBM and only have access to internal servers that way.
