What is the current FS/partition layout?
Show o/p from: [1] df -k / [2] df -k /opt [3] prtvtoc /dev/rdsk/<boot-disk> [4] prtvtoc /dev/rdsk/</opt disk> Also, let us know whether you are using any volume manager products. Last edited by frozentin; 02-26-2009 at 08:57 PM.. Reason: typo in prtvtoc |

use a second disk in your system and do a "liveupgrade" to your system. the "old" system will be copied to the new disk with a new layout.
you will need two reboots. one to insert the new disk (if you don't have hot insert capabilitys) and one to boot the new system. read here how to use the "liveupgrade" utility. |
