Dear All,

Is any one know a way to re partition the hard disk after installing solaries and the application, as the application is important and we need a way to increase a the size of /opt partition without reinstalling the solaries....

Hey,

which file system did you use? Perhaps you can use growfs?

we install solaries 10 on our machines

use a second disk in your system and do a "liveupgrade" to your system. the "old" system will be copied to the new disk with a new layout.
you will need two reboots. one to insert the new disk (if you don't have hot insert capabilitys) and one to boot the new system.
read here how to use the "liveupgrade" utility.

What is the current FS/partition layout?

Show o/p from:
[1] df -k /
[2] df -k /opt
[3] prtvtoc /dev/rdsk/<boot-disk>
[4] prtvtoc /dev/rdsk/</opt disk>

Also, let us know whether you are using any volume manager products.
