So there are some based requirements need to be installed in HP UX.

So i don't know how to download and upgrade one packages.

Anyone can help me.

hi all!The error has corrected automatically.
I think the array was ejecting failed disk while rebuilding,but not full completed.
I replaced the disk in the rebuilding procedure,then array needed to rebuild again to eject failed disk id from records of subsystem,then the array add new disk id to the records of subsystem and do rebuild.

I've to do a simple job many times whenever it has been asked, just i've to log in to all of fourtien HP servers and i've to execute
ps -fu user > temp
cat temp|sendmail "xyz@z.com"
commands to send the statics of all of 14 servers over the mail to particular user id..

Though logging into each and every server and issuing same command is easy, but its time wasting.

Instead of that i want to create a script and run in single server, so that it can fetch statistics from all servers automatically and sends a single mail.
I've started writing script using SSH command but stuck and couldnt proceed.

please guide me in this regard

I have a HP Unix from which I'm trying to connect to an email server through telnet and test sending emails using commands. Why am I doing that is not important.
The email server is an Exchange server and it looks like that the only Authentication method it supports is NTLM.
The host name is "svrdb01".
Here is what I do:

The hex number is made based on the following information:

please consider, I'm pretty new to HP-UX, thanks.

Our server (rp7420 with HP-UX 11.31) has crashed due to disk write error (not boot partition). So I replaced damaged device with the new one of the same size and performed dd copy 1:1 to restore data - vxfs partition "/dev/vg01/lvol1" mounted as "/data" and some raw devs. After reboot system wrote this error: "vxfs mount: V-3-21268: /dev/vg01/lvol1 is corrupted. needs checking". So I wanted to run fsck command to fix filesystem, logged as root, but to my surprise nothing happened. No error, no output, no result. Just like if it wouldn't run. I'm sure I was able to run fsck many times before and I tried many variants of parameters, no deal. Any suggestions how to fix FS without using fsck? Or better, how to repair fsck to run properly? Thanks for every advice.

when i restarted and tried to log in as ROOT, the system got stuck and it kept on repeating.
the next day, i started the system again but this tym i did not get the login prompt and a black screen with alot of text on it appeared just like we have a command prompt in DOS, on this screen it asks for username after that it asks for the password, but after entering the password it dsnt go any further and the cursor keeps on blincking

I am trying to set up a monitor based on a "top" command statistic as follows:
top -bc -n1 > output.txt

I've put this command into a small script which is called by a cron... but there is something strange happening: the cron is limiting the output to output.txt to 80 characters.
If I call this script from a standart command line, evenrything is fine, no wrapping is occuring.
I'm using a HP-UX shell.
I red somewhere on internet that it could be a case of wrong editor - but that's not my case.

Could please advice?
