Mapping between "Pseudo name" and "Logical device ID" in powerpath with SVM changed....

Dear All,

I was having powerpath 5.2 on SUN server with SVM connected to CLARIION box. Please find the following output :

Code:
root # powermt display dev=all
Pseudo name=emcpower3a
CLARiiON ID=CK200073400372 [D039XSAP46]

What I did is I removed the powerpath 5.2 and installed the pakage of powerpath 5.3.But due to this activity the mapping between "Pseudo name" and "Logical device ID" changed due to unknown reason. Now the new output looks like follow :

Code:
root # powermt display dev=all

So, please tell me how can I restore the mapping between "Pseudo name" and "Logical device ID" in powerpath 5.3 with SVM as it was previous.

Thanks...

Hi,

To rename pseudo name with powerpath you can use the emcpadm tools.

Code:
emcpadm getusedpseudos
emcpadm getfreepseudos
emcpadm renamepseudo -s <src pseudo device name> -t <tgt pseudo device name>

To recover the old pseudo name, you must first assign current pseudo name to free pseudos, then fill the old pseudo with the real device name.
