Safe to uninstall with apt-get install?

Yesterday I incidently called apt-get with an ending "-". I noticed that I got promped if I wanted to remove the file. My question is if it's safe. I've never heard of anyone doing it so I just wanted to know.

Syntax:
Code:
161659/home/riwa# apt-get install links2-
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  links2
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B of archives.
After unpacking 3211kB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n] y
(Reading database ... 109839 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing links2 ...
/Richard
