alfalinux

is there anywhere i could find a script that takes alfalinux off the ramdisk and makes it a permanent os?

i got an old 486 and this seems to be the best distro i can put... does anyone have any other recomendations? i need soemthing with VI and gcc.... no x win.

Debian is one of my favorite, it manages to fit on a 113mb partition no problem (like 20mb swap). Comes with vi/vim, etc, x is optional. What I do is just install the base system, then use apt-get to install packages:
apt-get install vi
will download dependencies, etc, and install them.
