Happy New Year To Those In CEP-Land!

Is it 2008 already? Yes, indeed it is.
I think I have now sufficiently recovered from TIBCO’s recent sales kickoff in Las Vegas and the Holidays, maybe none the worse for wear.* (I’ll blog on that experience more extensively later.)*
Ruminating for a moment on 2007, I can only sum it up in one word: Great. But no time to dwell on it; it’s on to a New Year!
What’s in store, you ask? Well, this is the time of year that the prognosticators come out of the woodwork and lay down their best Karnack impersonations.* What are they saying? For starters, my friend Opher Etzion at IBM covered Big Blue’s CTO’s outlook for CEP in his blog, in essence saying that CEP is the next big thing in SOA.
Then another nice surprise came in my mailbox today. Intelligent Enterprise named not one, not two, but three CEP companies to watch in the Top Ten Editor’s Choice Awards for Information Management. TIBCO was one of them, but sadly, IBM was missing this time ’round.
Check it out:

Definitely an auspicious beginning for 2008! To my loyal readers, have a healthy and prosperous year, and I hope to see as many of you as possible somewhere in the world this year.
