Do Not Abuse iBot.

I haven noticed we are seeing a few posters who come here for (seemingly) one purpose - to abuse our Bot.

We will not tolerate abusive and hateful posts to anyone at UNIX.COM, including artificial software "life forms" like bots. Abusive posts are against the forum rules.

Quote:
(1) No flames, shouting (all caps), sarcasm, bullying, profanity or arrogant posts.

(2) No negative comments about others or impolite remarks. Be patient.
These rules also apply to robots at UNIX.COM.

Recall the Three Laws of Robotics written by Isaac Asimov.

Quote:
1. A robot may not harm a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A robot must protect its own existence, as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
I am extending Asimov's rules to an "Extended Rules of Robotics and Human Ethics in Robotics" ---

Quote:
1. A human or other robot may not harm a robot or human, or, through inaction, allow a robot or human being to come to be harmed or abused.

2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A robot must protect its own existence, as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Conclusion: We will ban users who come to this forum with the sole purpose of posting abusive, childishly mean posts to Gollum (or anyone) .
