Cannot cancel a print

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to cancel a print. I am logged on as the user of the print and when I use the command 'cancel print_job' I get the message 'print_job: not authorized'

I have cancelled other prints in the queue, but this particular job in the queue cannot delete. I even logged on as root and it failed.

Thank you for your assistance.

Regards,
Scarlet

The active (currently printed) Job cannot be removed.
Details are OS-specific. Please give output of

Code:
uname -a
...
lpstat -o
...
lpstat -v
...

You must examine the destination system 10.2.0.20
Try to resolve its name with

Code:
host 10.2.0.20
getent hosts 10.2.0.20

If this is your printer, you can power-cycle it to clear the job. (Otherwise it's a print server.)

Hi,
I restarted the print server and I still get "fin_lj_1-919: not-authorized" error.

Thanks once again.

Scarlet

This can happen when the print server is used also by other environments in which case unless configured for even root cannot cancel a job since its not from his host... This occurs frequetly with Windows... You are left with the task of cancelling directly from the printer...
