JRE 1.5.x on IBM-AIX

I am looking for the latest version of JRE 1.5.x for AIX 5.2 and higher. When I do "java -version' or "java -fullversion' it lists that it is Java 1.5.0, but how do I find out the exact version?

For example, latest JRE 1.5.x for Solaris is JRE 1.5.0.16, similarly for HPUX, it is JRE 1.5.0.14

Can I find out similar info on AIX too?

The java version command displays the version info in the below format

Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build pap32dev-20080315 (SR7)) IBM J9 VM (build 2.3, J2RE 1.5.0 IBM J9 2.3 AIX ppc-32 j9vmap3223-20080315 (JIT enabled)

What version should be interpreted out of this(1.5.0.??)

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. My problem here is, I am using a tar bundle of the JRE 1.5.x which has been just extracted and used as it is (so it won't be available while doing a lslpp)

Any other way of finding out the complete version details?

Thanks.

Did a readme.txt or release notes come with the tarball? Maybe it's in there... I don't know of any other way.

Thanks for your help. The AIX site details how to find out the version.

For example, if the java version command displays the version info in the below format

Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build pap32dev-20080315 (SR7)) IBM J9 VM (build 2.3, J2RE 1.5.0 IBM J9 2.3 AIX ppc-32 j9vmap3223-20080315 (JIT enabled)

Here build pap32dev-20080315 (SR7) details which version it is. The latest seems to be SR8 as of today from IBM site.

Thanks again!!
