DS4300 firmware upgrade with AIX
Hi Guys,
It's me again with this unending support of AIX43 ML 9. I finally able to test a migration from SSA to SAN, no problem. One problem, I bought some expansion of DS4300, two arrays. The IBM tech told me that before I can connect to the existing DS4300, I need to upgrade the firmware to the same level as the new one. Is this going to give me problem with SAN connection on my AIX43 (and AIX53)? I have only one fiber card on the AIX43 (and AIX53). No rdac, or double fiber card. Thanks in advance, itik |

Hi
Yes. You need to install latest available support for HBA adapters and the latest available firmware for your HBA adapter. The same way you have to install the recommended firmware for DS4400 storage subsystem (please check the compatibility matrix on ibm.com). No matter if you don't have more than one HBA you should install the rdac support. Hope this helps |
