Installation AIXL 5.3

Hi,
I have a few question.

1. I have a AIXL 5.3 - 8 CDs, AIXL 5.2 7CDs
2. I tried to install 5.3/5.2 on i386 platform
+ on Laptop IBM
+ on VMWare on Linux

This is posiible ?

First CDs of 5.3/5.2 AIX not booting on both laptop and VMWare 6.0
I pressd F5 as in documentation is said but nothing going on.

Bios is corectly set to boot from CD firstly on laptop and VMWare.

Please help me guys.

You cannot install AIX on i386 or any intel processor, or on any level of VMware.

AIX 5.3 will only install on an IBM rs6000 or pSeries system.

Maybe one of you could give me something like test ssh account
I found this Polarhome - gateway to freedom but there is no free account of AIX

Smile hellow

first: you can't installed the aix operting system in i386 platform!

the big problue is CPU, aix's CPU must be PPC platform and the bootloader is U-BOOT,so we can't use i386.


second: you can use "Virtutech.Simics" software to try install a PPC platform to install the aix env,but it is not good job ,try your hard way!
